Swim Like a Fish Print - 12"x18"

In the mid 19th century, young Hawaiian men were hired in great numbers by American and British fur trade companies for their swimming skills, strength, and ease in and on the water. The Islanders were valued watermen and worked on ships at sea and later on canoes carrying pelts and goods which travelled up and down the rivers in the Pacific Northwest part of the American continent. The Hawaiian phrase “Holo ā i`a” means “To swim like a fish.”.

The 12"x18" print is produced on a full-color press on textured stock. Each comes with an informative history about the subject. Print is custom designed by artist Amy Kapuanani Antonio and ships in a mailing tube via USPS mail.

Shipping is FREE on all art prints.
